Creativity Comes Naturally To Humans

Human beings are inherently creative. Just take a look around yourself, what do you see? Better yet, imagine you are a squirrel. Now imagine you are in whatever home or shelter you have found as a squirrel. Now, what do you see? Probably not a lot, a hollowed-out tree, dirt, a single opening to get in and out of and allows light to come in, something along those lines. Now take a look around yourself. What do you see? I’ll tell you what I see. I see all the things from clothing to buildings, and everything that fills them as human creativity, constantly growing and bringing about new ways to express our lives. Creativity is so ingrained in who we are that we see everything around us as normal, but it’s really not. No other known animals create in such a broad spectrum.

Everyone sees creativity as exclusively to the arts, but many people express their creativity through everyday activities or jobs. Of course, there are traditional and obvious forms of creativity like music, painting, hobbies, and crafts, but if you look closely at everything you can see a pattern of things being brought into reality from the beginning of creative imagination. Chefs create wonderful food, teachers create ways to gain knowledge, construction workers create buildings, and eventually whole cities. Still, having trouble seeing the inherent creativity of humans? Let’s go back to when you imagined you were a squirrel, did you see an image of yourself as a squirrel in their home? If you did you used your imagination to create a picture in your mind, you can use your words to create a description. That is all creativity, you don’t really have to try, because you are already doing it. We all create something in our lives, be conscious of what it is you are creating in your life, you should be proud of it. It makes us who we are… human beings.
